Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Maribor: Jeruzalem Church (in Ivanjkovci), Vulkanija Adventure Park (in Gornji Grad) and St. John the Baptist’s Church (in Ljutomer). Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Get a sense of the local culture at Cankarjevo Nabrežje and Ljubljana Castle. Visit Franciscan Church of the Annunciation and Cathedral of St. Nicholas for their historical value. Take a break from Ljubljana with a short trip to Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum in Idrija, about 48 minutes away. Spend the 10th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. An old city with a modern vibe, Celje features a castle and historical town center, surrounded by a green landscpe tailor-made for an exciting and active holiday.
