Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.Bring the kids along to Ljubljana Old Town and Nature & Wildlife Tours. The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.Attractions like Parasailing & Paragliding and Vršič Pass make great kid-friendly stops. Get out of town with these interesting Bled side-trips: Mojčin Dom na Vitrancu (in Kranjska Gora), Peričnik Falls (in Mojstrana) and Bohinjsko Jezero (Ukanc Military Cemetery, Lake Bohinj, &more). Spend the 18th (Sun) exploring nature at Triglav National Park. There's still lots to do: stroll through Vintgar Gorge, stroll around Spa Park, explore the fascinating underground world of Pokljuka Gorge, and step into the grandiose world of Bled Castle.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bovec: Tolmin Gorge (in Tolmin) and Outdoor Museum Kolovrat (muzej na prostem) (in Volče). There's lots more to do: add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour, trek along Krampež Waterfall, admire the verdant scenery at Soča Valley, and take in the history at Ravelnik Open Air Museum.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.Kids will enjoy Tartini Square and Scuba & Snorkeling. Change things up with these side-trips from Piran: Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan) and Military Museum Tabor (in Lokev). There's still lots to do: engage your brain at Magical World of Shells Museum, get great views at Strunjan Cliff, walk around Park Pietro Coppo, and enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach.
