Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Visit Strunjan Nature Reserve and Koper City Beach for some beach relaxation. Get in touch with nature at Škocjan Caves and Svetilnik Beach. Take a break from Piran with a short trip to Hrastovlje Church of the Holy Trinity in Hrastovlje, about 40 minutes away. There's still lots to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, pause for some serene contemplation at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower, examine the collection at Izolana - House of the Sea, and identify plant and animal life at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve.
