Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Kids will enjoy Parasailing & Paragliding and Straža Bled. Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Museum of Hostages (in Begunje na Gorenjskem), Bled (Mala Osojnica, Bled Island, &more) and France Preseren's Birth House - museum (in Žirovnica). Spend the 6th (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: stroll through Vintgar Gorge, contemplate the waterfront views at Ljubljanica River, wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town, and make a trip to Ljubljana Castle.

Paris, France to Ljubljana is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. In August, plan for daily highs up to 31°C, and evening lows to 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Koper.

Koper

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Bring the kids along to Tartini Square and Strunjan Nature Reserve. Get out of town with these interesting Koper side-trips: Vipava River Spring (in Vipava) and Predjama Castle (in Postojna). And it doesn't end there: Head underground at Škocjan Caves, make a trip to Walls of Piran, look for all kinds of wild species at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Koper in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in August, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 20°C in Koper. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Bohinjsko Jezero.

Bohinjsko Jezero

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Start off your visit on the 13th (Fri): see the interesting displays at Pocar Farm, admire the sheer force of Slap Grmečica, then find something for the whole family at Golden Horn Fairyland, and finally take in the dramatic scenery at Savica Waterfall. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Planina Zajamniki, hit the slopes at Vogel, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj.

You can drive from Koper to Bohinjsko Jezero in 2.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. Traveling from Koper in August, expect Bohinjsko Jezero to be little chillier, temps between 28°C and 14°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Bovec.
