Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Kids will enjoy Magical World of Shells Museum and St. George's Church. Get some cultural insight at Nika's Tiny House and Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower. Take a break from Piran with a short trip to Škocjan Caves in Škocjan, about 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, look for all kinds of wild species at Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, make a trip to Walls of Piran, and stroll through Portorož Beach.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
