Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.
Get outdoors at Pyramid Archaeological Site and Mariborsko Pohorje Ski Resort. Get some cultural insight at Maribor Regional Museum and Franciscan Church. Get out of town with these interesting Maribor side-trips: Pragersko Railway Station (in Pragersko), Gornji Grad Cathedral (in Gornji Grad) and Velenje (The House of Minerals, Velenje Castle, &more). Ljubljana to Maribor is an approximately 1.5- hour shuttle ride. You can also drive; or take a train. In June, daytime highs in Maribor are 30°C, while nighttime lows are 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) so you can go by car to Solčava.

Visit Solcava to discover a region near the Austrian border where a drive down a panoramic road delivers some of the best views in Europe.
Visiting Logar Valley Landscape Park and Solčava Panoramic Road will get you outdoors. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Peca Underground - Tourist Mine and Museum and Black Hole Trail. Venture out of the city with trips to Plečnik Monument (in Črna na Koroškem) and Forma viva Ravne Steel Masterpieces (in Ravne na Koroškem). And it doesn't end there: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cerkev Marije Snezne, stop by Center Rinka, and don't miss a visit to Kapela Kristusa Kralja.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Fort Kluze and Drežnica Village. Explore hidden gems such as Soča Valley and Italian Charnel House. Take a break from Bovec with a short trip to Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit in Tolmin, about 32 minutes away. The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Step off the beaten path and head to Mala Osojnica and Parasailing & Paragliding. Get a sense of the local culture at Museum of Apiculture and Church of St John the Baptist. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Bled: Planica Nordic Centre (in Rateče), Kranjska Gora (Ajdovska Deklica, Zelenci Nature Reserve, &more) and Bohinjsko Jezero (Museum of Alpine Dairy Farming & Ukanc Military Cemetery).
