Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.

Take a break from the city and head to Postojna Cave and Triglav National Park. Popular historic sites such as Ljubljana Castle and Cathedral of St. Nicholas are in your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Bohinjsko Jezero (Vogel, Lake Bohinj, &more), Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum (in Idrija) and Bled (Ojstrica, St. Martin's Parish Church, &more). Spend the 23rd (Sun) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. On the 18th (Tue), enjoy a perfect day by the water at Velenje Beach. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve, explore the activities along Ljubljanica River, stroll through Natural Bathing Place Lajšt, and step into the grandiose world of Predjama Castle.
