Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Parasailing & Paragliding and Wine Tours & Tastings. Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Bled (Lake Bled & Bled Castle), Radovljica (Old Town Centre of Radovljica & WoodWay) and Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje). There's lots more to do: Head underground at Postojna Cave, snap pictures at Triple Bridge, make a trip to Prešeren Square, and wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town.

Val d'Or, Canada to Ljubljana is an approximately 20.5-hour flight. You'll lose 6 hours traveling from Val d'Or to Ljubljana due to the time zone difference. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Val d'Or in July, with highs in Ljubljana at 32°C and lows at 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Koper.

Koper — 4 nights

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Walls of Piran and Praetorian Palace. Take a break from Koper with a short trip to Predjama Castle in Postojna, about 54 minutes away. The adventure continues: pause for some serene contemplation at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower, stroll through Svetilnik Beach, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
