Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Step out of the city life by going to Parasailing & Paragliding and Velika Planina. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Ljubljana Old Town and Cankarjevo Nabrežje. Change things up with a short trip to Preskar Museum in Stahovica (about 48 minutes away). Dedicate the 9th (Wed) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of National Museum of Contemporary History, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. Nicholas, wander the streets of Metelkova, and browse the exhibits of Škofja Loka Castle.
