In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Start off your visit on the 23rd (Thu): take in the awesome beauty at Vogel, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj, get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports, trek along Golden Horn Fairyland, then admire the sheer force of Savica Waterfall, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St John the Baptist. Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Celje Castle and Velenje Beach. Get some historical perspective at Prince's Palace and Church of Sv. Roka. Change things up with these side-trips from Maribor: Spas (in Podčetrtek), Celje Water Tower (in Celje) and Eko Muzej (in Žalec). Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Kids will enjoy St. George's Church and Portorož Beach. Visit Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower and Hrastovlje Church of the Holy Trinity for their historical value. Take a break from Piran with a short trip to Škocjan Caves in Škocjan, about 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: learn more about the world around you at Magical World of Shells Museum, admire the landmark architecture of Praetorian Palace, make a trip to Walls of Piran, and enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve.
