Kobarid

At the very heart of picturesque Soca Valley, Kobarid delivers some of the most stunning views of Slovenia's highest peaks, as well as a chance to enjoy some exciting alpine rivers.
Start off your visit on the 13th (Sat): admire the sheer force of Kozjak Waterfall, then see the interesting displays at Kobarid Museum, and then add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour. Here are some ideas for day two: make a trip to Italian Charnel House, take in the views from Bridge of Napoleon, then explore the striking landscape at Tolmin Gorge, and finally appreciate the views at Soča Valley.

For ratings, where to stay, photos, and tourist information, you can read our Kobarid online vacation planner.

Maribor to Kobarid is an approximately 3- hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Maribor in June: highs in Kobarid hover around 26°C, while lows dip to 13°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) so you can go by car back home.
