Ljubljana to Koper is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Ljubljana in January, with highs in Koper at 11°C and lows at 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Tue) so you can drive to Šmarje.

Šmarje is a village in the City Municipality of Koper in the Littoral region of Slovenia.The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
