Get some cultural insight at Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum and St. George's Church. The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Get outdoors at Kayaking & Canoeing and Straža Bled. Old Town Centre of Radovljica and St. Martin's Parish Church will appeal to history buffs. Explore Bled's surroundings by going to Virje Waterfall (in Bovec) and Peričnik Falls (in Mojstrana). Spend the 5th (Wed) exploring nature at Triglav National Park. Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.
Get some historical perspective at Celje Castle and Prešernova Street. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Ptuj Castle and Celje Cathedral of Saint Daniel. Venture out of the city with trips to Ana's Mansion (in Rogaška Slatina), Žiče Charterhouse (in Loče pri Poljčanah) and Spas (in Podčetrtek). Novo Mesto is the city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Kick off your visit on the 12th (Wed): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Novo Mesto Cathedral and then delve into the lush surroundings at Krokar Primeval Forest. The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.

The capital of Slovenia's Alps, Kranj allows you to stand with one foot in the nature and another in a town that's both a cultural center and a base for outdoor activities.
Get a sense of the local culture at Škofja Loka Castle and Zaprice Castle. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kozjak Waterfall and Kobarid Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Kranj side-trips: Little Castle (in Kamnik), Velika Planina (in Stahovica) and St Mary of the Assumption church (in Kobarid).
