Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Triglav National Park and Ljubljana Old Town. Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje), Pokljuka Gorge (in Krnica) and Bled (Lake Bled Train Station, Ojstrica, &more). A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Bring the kids along to Magical World of Shells Museum and Nika's Tiny House. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Koper: Predjama Castle (in Postojna), Vipava River Spring (in Vipava) and Military Museum Tabor (in Lokev). Next up on the itinerary: Head underground at Škocjan Caves, look for all kinds of wild species at Strunjan Nature Reserve, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Hrastovlje Church of the Holy Trinity, and examine the collection at Izolana - House of the Sea.
