Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Tartini Square and Magical World of Shells Museum. Explore Piran's surroundings by going to Lokev (Military Museum Tabor & Vilenica Cave), Postojna (Tourist Information Centre - Galerija, Predjama Castle, &more) and Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan). There's lots more to do: make a trip to Walls of Piran, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and take in the waterfront at Port Piran.

Getting from Piran to Bohinjska Bistrica by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. Traveling from Piran in July, expect Bohinjska Bistrica to be a bit cooler, temps between 29°C and 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sun) so you can drive to Kamnik.

Get out of town with these interesting Kamnik side-trips: Dovzan Gorge (in Tržič), Podčetrtek (Olimje Chocolate Shop & Olimje Monastery) and Solčava (Rinka Waterfall & Logar Valley Landscape Park).
