In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Take a break from the city and head to Zipline and Vršič Pass. Attractions like Kayaking & Canoeing and Soča Valley make great kid-friendly stops. Bohinjsko Jezero — 2 nights

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
On the 5th (Sat), get engrossed in the history at Oplen House Museum, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St. Nicholas, and then fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour. On your second day here, explore the activities along Lake Bohinj, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St John the Baptist, then take in the awesome beauty at Vogel, and finally take in the dramatic scenery at Savica Waterfall.

You can drive from Bovec to Bohinjsko Jezero in 2 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In August, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 14°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Piran.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Strunjan Nature Reserve and Svetilnik Beach. Get in touch with nature at Scuba & Snorkeling and Zusterna Beach. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Piran: Hrastovlje Church of the Holy Trinity (in Hrastovlje) and Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan). You can drive from Bohinjsko Jezero to Piran in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Bohinjsko Jezero in August, things will get a bit warmer in Piran: highs are around 34°C and lows about 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Ljubljana.
