Bohinjsko Jezero — 2 nights

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
On the 24th (Sat), take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Planina Zajamniki, then see the interesting displays at Museum of Alpine Dairy Farming, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St John the Baptist, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: admire the sheer force of Mostnica Gorge, then catch a ride on Vogel, then take in the dramatic scenery at Savica Waterfall, and finally take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports.

To find more things to do, photos, traveler tips, and more tourist information, you can read our Bohinjsko Jezero road trip planning tool.

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major aiport is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport. In September, plan for daily highs up to 21°C, and evening lows to 10°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Bled.
