3 days in Koper & Secovlje Itinerary

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.

Start off your visit on the 29th (Fri): pause for some serene contemplation at St. Anne's Friary, admire the landmark architecture of Piazza Tito, take in the exciting artwork at Loza Gallery, then pause for some serene contemplation at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower, then admire the striking features of Praetorian Palace, and finally admire the local landmark of Da Ponte Fountain. On the 30th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: step into the grandiose world of Predjama Castle, explore the fascinating underground world of Postojna Cave, and then Head underground at Škocjan Caves.

Ljubljana to Koper is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in May, plan for a bit warmer nights in Koper, with lows around 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Sat) early enough to travel to Secovlje.

Kick off your visit on the 31st (Sun): get great views at Strunjan Cliff, then look for all kinds of wild species at Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, and then take an in-depth tour of Tonina House.
