Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Step off the beaten path and head to Port Piran and Vino Zorz. Get outdoors at Strunjan Nature Reserve and Scuba & Snorkeling. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Piran: Wines Jamsek (in Vipava), Boris Lisjak Winery (in Dutovlje) and Ferrari Garden (in Štanjel). There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Svetilnik Beach, learn more about the world around you at Mediadom Pyrhani, do a tasting at Vinakoper, and stop by Nika's Tiny House.
