Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Get a sense of the local culture at St. George's Church and Socerb Castle. Popular historic sites such as Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower and Villa on Republic Square are in your itinerary. Step out of Piran with an excursion to Lipica Stud Farm in Lipica--about 50 minutes away. There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Portorož Beach, walk around Strunjan Nature Reserve, admire the striking features of Praetorian Palace, and pause for some serene contemplation at St Stephen's Church.
