4 days in Bled & Ljubljana Itinerary

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.

Start off your visit on the 19th (Fri): take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Martin's Parish Church, fly down the slopes at Vogel, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Bled Island, and finally step into the grandiose world of Bled Castle. Keep things going the next day: fly down the slopes at Intersport Bernik, tour the pleasant surroundings at Smučarska Šola ASK Kranjska Gora, and then ski along the peaceful trails at Planica Nordic Centre & Zipline.

Zagreb, Croatia to Bled is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also take a shuttle; or take a train. In February, daytime highs in Bled are 5°C, while nighttime lows are -3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) early enough to drive to Ljubljana.

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.

Kick off your visit on the 21st (Sun): visit Metelkova, don't miss a visit to Ljubljana Castle, then ponder the world of politics at Town Hall, then snap pictures at Triple Bridge, and finally wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town. Here are some ideas for day two: tour the pleasant surroundings at Krvavec, explore the historical opulence of Predjama Castle, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. Nicholas, and finally take in the views from Dragon Bridge.

Traveling by car from Bled to Ljubljana takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 5°C in February, and nighttime lows around -2°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Mon) early enough to go by car back home.
