Novo Mesto is the city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Venture out of the city with trips to Celje (Celje Water Tower & Lake Šmartno), Brežice Castle (in Brežice) and Podčetrtek (Spas & Olimje Monastery). There's much more to do: stroll around Otočec Castle Park, snap pictures at Kandija Bridge, play a few rounds at Golf Grad Otočec, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Franciscan Monastery.
