Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Bring the kids along to Ljubljana Old Town and Ljubljana Castle. Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Gradisko Lake (in Lukovica), Celje (City Park, Celje Water Tower, &more) and Plague Column (in Maribor). Spend the 29th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Postojna

Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Family-friendly places like Magical World of Shells Museum and Strunjan Cliff will thrill your kids. Step out of Piran to go to Črni Kal and see Socerb Castle, which is approximately 42 minutes away. There's still lots to do: make a trip to Tartini Square, enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Parish Church of the Virgin Mary of the Rosary, and take in the waterfront at Port Piran.

Traveling by car from Postojna to Piran takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Postojna in June, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Piran, with lows around 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) so you can drive to Bovec.

Bovec
