Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Ljubljana Old Town and Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. Your inner history buff will appreciate Ljubljana Castle and Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church. Explore Ljubljana's surroundings by going to Postojna (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle). There's lots more to do: take in the views from Triple Bridge, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of St. Nicholas, explore the activities along Ljubljanica River, and relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas.

Pisa, Italy to Ljubljana is an approximately 5.5-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or do a combination of train and bus. The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Thu): stroll through Vintgar Gorge, then get great views at Mala Osojnica, then head off the coast to Bled Island, and finally step into the grandiose world of Bled Castle.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Bled in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In January, daily temperatures in Bled can reach 4°C, while at night they dip to -5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Thu) early enough to drive to Bovec.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
