Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.

You can drive from Maribor to Kranjska Gora in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Maribor in July: highs in Kranjska Gora hover around 29°C, while lows dip to 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Sat) so you can go by car back home.
