Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.

You'll find plenty of places to visit near Piran: Predjama Castle (in Postojna), Hrastovlje Church of the Holy Trinity (in Hrastovlje) and Wine Tours & Tastings (in Vipava). There's much more to do: make a trip to Tartini Square, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. George's Church, pause for some serene contemplation at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower, and see the interesting displays at Magical World of Shells Museum.
