The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Sat): tour the pleasant surroundings at Vintgar Gorge, get great views at Mala Osojnica, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj. On the 1st (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, and then fly down the slopes at Straža Bled.

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Mon): get a sense of history and politics at Town Hall, stop by Ljubljana Old Town, snap pictures at Triple Bridge, then glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. Nicholas, and finally explore the activities along Ljubljanica River.

Drive from Bled to Ljubljana in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In August, plan for daily highs up to 31°C, and evening lows to 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Mon) early enough to go by car to Piran.

Getting from Ljubljana to Piran by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in August, expect a bit warmer with lows of 20°C in Piran. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue) to allow time to drive to Bovec.
