The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Wed): contemplate the long history of France Preseren's Birth House - museum, head off the coast to Bled Island, then savor the flavors at Wine Tasting Bled, and finally step into the grandiose world of Bled Castle.

Rome, Italy to Bled is an approximately 5.5-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or take a train. Traveling from Rome in December, things will get little chillier in Bled: highs are around 5°C and lows about -3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Piran.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
On the 8th (Thu), learn more about the world around you at Magical World of Shells Museum, take a leisurely stroll along Port Piran, then enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve, and finally stroll through Portorož Beach.

You can drive from Bled to Piran in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus.
