Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Postojna (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle). Spend the 19th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Fri): indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area, then explore the fascinating underground world of Škocjan Caves, and then identify plant and animal life at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve. On your second day here, identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, examine the collection at Magical World of Shells Museum, and then make a trip to Tartini Square.

Drive from Ljubljana to Piran in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Piran when traveling from Ljubljana in July, with lows around 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
