Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
On the 21st (Fri), take in the dramatic natural features at Vintgar Gorge, then get outside with Mala Osojnica, then hunt for treasures at Odprta Kuhna, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. Nicholas. Keep things going the next day: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, and then hit the slopes at Straža Bled.

Brussels, Belgium to Ljubljana is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. When traveling from Brussels in July, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Ljubljana: temperatures range from 32°C by day to 17°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun) to allow time to drive to Piran.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
On the 23rd (Sun), learn more about the world around you at Magical World of Shells Museum, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St. Bernardine, see the interesting displays at Sergej Mašera Maritime Museum, then get curious at Mediadom Pyrhani, then admire the striking features of Benečanka Venetian House, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Francis of Assisi. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in Piran when traveling from Ljubljana in July, with lows around 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Vipava.
