Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.

Get out of town with these interesting Piran side-trips: Postojna (Predjama Castle, Postojna Cave, &more), Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan) and Lipica (Lipica Stud Farm & Lipizzan Museum Lipikum).
