A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.

Venture out of the city with trips to Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan), Triglav National Park (in Bled) and Postojna (Predjama Castle & Guštarna). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach, take in the dramatic natural features at Tolmin Gorge, make a trip to Walls of Piran, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower.
