Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.Venture out of the city with trips to Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje), Postojna (Predjama Castle & Postojna Cave) and Bled (Room Escape Games, Bled Island, &more). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Ljubljana Old Town, explore the activities along Ljubljanica River, snap pictures at Dragon Bridge, and make a trip to Ljubljana Castle.

Venice, Italy to Ljubljana is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from Venice in August: high temperatures in Ljubljana hover around 31°C and lows are around 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Bohinjsko Jezero.
