Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Bled (Triglav National Park, Mala Osojnica, &more), Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje) and Postojna (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town, contemplate the waterfront views at Ljubljanica River, step into the grandiose world of Ljubljana Castle, and take in the views from Dragon Bridge.
