Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Room Escape Games and Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. Kids will appreciate attractions like Ljubljana Old Town and Ljubljanica River. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Lake Bohinj (in Bohinjsko Jezero), Church of St. Nicholas (in Spodnja Sorica) and Bled (Infocenter Triglavska Roža Bled & Bled Castle). Spend the 29th (Thu) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at House of Illusions, snap pictures at Triple Bridge, get to know the resident critters at ZOO Ljubljana, and walk around Tivoli Park.

Geneva, Switzerland to Ljubljana is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. Traveling from Geneva in December, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be slightly colder in Ljubljana, with lows of -3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Sat) early enough to drive to Piran.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Sun): get a new perspective on nature at Magical World of Shells Museum, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. George's Church, then take in the exciting artwork at Nika's Tiny House, and finally don't miss a visit to Tartini Square.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Piran in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus.
