7 days in Bled, Ljubljana & Slovenian Istria Itinerary

On the 13th (Thu), take in the dramatic scenery at Savica Waterfall, then explore the activities along Lake Bohinj, and then step into the grandiose world of Bled Castle. Copenhagen, Denmark to Bled is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Traveling from Copenhagen in July, you will find days in Bled are somewhat warmer (32°C), and nights are about the same (17°C). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Ljubljana.

Kick off your visit on the 15th (Sat): explore the fascinating underground world of Postojna Cave and then enjoy the sand and surf at Natural Bathing Place Lajšt. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the waterfront views at Ljubljanica River, explore the historical opulence of Ljubljana Castle, ponder the world of politics at Town Hall, then take a stroll through Ljubljana Old Town, then take in the views from Triple Bridge, and finally snap pictures at Dragon Bridge.

Traveling by car from Bled to Ljubljana takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in July, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) so you can go by car to Koper.

Visit Zusterna Beach and Portorož Beach for some beach relaxation. Change things up with a short trip to Lipica Stud Farm in Lipica (about 32 minutes away). And it doesn't end there: explore the fascinating underground world of Škocjan Caves, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church, make a trip to Tartini Square, and look for all kinds of wild species at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve.

Getting from Ljubljana to Koper by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Ljubljana in July since evenings lows in Koper dip to 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Wed) so you can drive back home.
