Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Bled (Bled Island, Mala Osojnica, &more), Postojna Cave (in Postojna) and Rakov Škocjan Landscape Park (in Rakek). There's still lots to do: stop by Ljubljana Old Town, snap pictures at Triple Bridge, explore the activities along Ljubljanica River, and step into the grandiose world of Ljubljana Castle.

Warsaw, Poland to Ljubljana is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Warsaw in January: highs in Ljubljana hover around 5°C, while lows dip to -3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Mon) so you can drive to Piran.

Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Tue): view the masterpieces at Nika's Tiny House, learn more about the world around you at Magical World of Shells Museum, then relax and rejuvenate at Fish Spa Piran, and finally make a trip to Tartini Square. On the 12th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at Sergej Mašera Maritime Museum and then Head underground at Škocjan Caves.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Piran in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in January, things will get a bit warmer in Piran: highs are around 11°C and lows about 1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
