Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje), Bled (Straža Bled, Bled Island, &more) and Pokljuka Gorge (in Krnica). There's much more to do: Head underground at Postojna Cave, explore the activities along Ljubljanica River, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. Nicholas, and take in the views from Triple Bridge.

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Sun): take in the dramatic scenery at Savica Waterfall, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Vogel, then pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St John the Baptist, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj.
