Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.Bring the kids along to Ljubljana Old Town and Bled Castle. Step out of the city life by going to Postojna Cave and Bled Island. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Predjama Castle (in Postojna), Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje) and Bled (Parasailing & Paragliding, Zipline, &more). Traveling by car from Portorož to Ljubljana takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Portorož in April, Ljubljana is a bit cooler at night with lows of 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 12th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
