A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Fri): discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, shop like a local with Duka Gallery, enjoy the sand and surf at Svetilnik Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach.

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Bring the kids along to Ljubljana Old Town and Bled Castle. Step out of the city life by going to Postojna Cave and Bled Island. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Predjama Castle (in Postojna), Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje) and Bled (Parasailing & Paragliding, Zipline, &more). There's lots more to do: explore the historical opulence of Ljubljana Castle, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. Nicholas, admire the landmark architecture of Seminary Palace and Library, and snap pictures at Dragon Bridge.

Traveling by car from Portorož to Ljubljana takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Portorož in April, Ljubljana is a bit cooler at night with lows of 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 12th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
