8 days in Kranj Itinerary

The capital of Slovenia's Alps, Kranj allows you to stand with one foot in the nature and another in a town that's both a cultural center and a base for outdoor activities.

Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Brdo Castle and Pungert. Get out of town with these interesting Kranj side-trips: Winery Tilia Estate (in Dobravlje), Plansarsko Jezero (in Zgornje Jezersko) and Boris Lisjak Winery (in Dutovlje). The adventure continues: take in the pleasant sights at Kokra Canyon, identify plant and animal life at Dovzan Gorge, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Kancijan Church, and admire the striking features of Toll House.
