A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Venture out of the city with trips to Predjama Castle (in Postojna), Vipava River Spring (in Vipava) and Reservoir Dogs brewery (in Nova Gorica). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Tartini Square, stop by Lisjak - Premium extra virgin olive oil from Slovenian Istria, get a new perspective on nature at Magical World of Shells Museum, and see the interesting displays at Pivka Park of Military History.
