Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.

Getting from Bovec to Piran by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a bus. Traveling from Bovec in July, things will get somewhat warmer in Piran: highs are around 35°C and lows about 21°C.
