Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.Get a sense of the local culture at Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum and Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. Popular historic sites such as Cankarjevo Nabrežje and Ljubljana Castle are in your itinerary. Dedicate the 6th (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Valletta, Malta to Ljubljana is an approximately 6.5-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also fly; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Valletta in April, things will get a bit cooler in Ljubljana: highs are around 19°C and lows about 5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Piran.
