Valletta, Malta to Piran is an approximately 10.5-hour combination of flight and car. Traveling from Valletta in December, things will get little chillier in Piran: highs are around 12°C and lows about 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Ljubljana.

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Ljubljana: Rakov Škocjan Landscape Park (in Rakek), Bled (St. Martin's Parish Church, Bled Castle, &more) and Postojna Cave (in Postojna). Spend the 8th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Drive from Piran to Ljubljana in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. In December, Ljubljana is a bit cooler than Piran - with highs of 5°C and lows of -3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
