The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.

Explore Bled's surroundings by going to Vršič Pass (in Kranjska Gora) and Bohinjsko Jezero (Savica Waterfall & Lake Bohinj). If you are flying in from Norway, the closest major aiport is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in July, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Fri) so you can drive to Ljubljana.

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.

On the 21st (Fri), snap pictures at Dragon Bridge. Keep things going the next day: stop by Guštarna, explore the fascinating underground world of Postojna Cave, then take a stroll through Ljubljana Old Town, and finally snap pictures at Triple Bridge.

You can drive from Bled to Ljubljana in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In July, daily temperatures in Ljubljana can reach 32°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Piran.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.

Venture out of the city with trips to Lepa Vida Boutique Winery (in Šempas), Lipica Stud Farm (in Lipica) and Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan).
