Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cathedral of St. Nicholas and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. You'll explore and learn at Škofja Loka Castle and National Museum of Contemporary History. Explore Ljubljana's surroundings by going to Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower (in Koper), Škofja Loka (Franc Mihelič Gallery, Sokol Home, &more) and Postojna Cave (in Postojna). There's still lots to do: learn more about the world around you at Magical World of Shells Museum, hunt for treasures at Ljubljana Central Market, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, and contemplate the waterfront views at Ljubljanica River.

Brussels, Belgium to Ljubljana is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. When traveling from Brussels in July, plan for a bit warmer days in Ljubljana, with highs around 32°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 17°C. On the 20th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Bled.

Bled — 4 nights

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Lake Bohinj and Vogel. Head to Town Hall and Škrlovec Towerfor some retail therapy. Step out of Bled with an excursion to Mostnica Gorge in Stara Fužina--about 36 minutes away. There's lots more to do: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, take in the dramatic scenery at Slap Grmečica, take some stellar pictures from Mala Osojnica, and take in the exciting artwork at Huberto Siroka atelje.

Drive from Ljubljana to Bled in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. July in Bled sees daily highs of 32°C and lows of 17°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Sun) early enough to fly back home.
