Gornji Grad is the largest settlement and the administrative centre of the Municipality of Gornji Grad in Slovenia.GeographyIt is located on the Dreta River, a right tributary of the Savinja, in the southeastern foothills of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, about 36km east of Celje and 55km north of Ljubljana. Start off your visit on the 28th (Tue): pause for some serene contemplation at Gornji Grad Cathedral and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Velika Planina. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at The Grom Motorcycle Museum, then see the interesting displays at Peca Underground - Tourist Mine and Museum, and then appreciate the history behind Plečnik Monument.
